Re: fuel pumps

        Really, the 152 in my bud's 64 has a block plate over the 
     mount on the drivers side (it has an electric fuel pump right 
     now) BUT, the mount is definitely on the drivers side between 2 
     and 3.  I checked the front right corner over and over, looking 
     for a fuel pump.  The casting was never drilled or machined one 
     bit for the fuel pump.  Keep in mind that the fuel pump actually 
     doesn't bolt to the engine, it bolts to the timing gear cover.  I 
     noticed that when I did my gears last month.
     
        No prob.  The v8s and the 196 are basically the same.  I think 
     the 266 has some quirks though.  Let's not forget the little v8, 
     huh?

I thought the castings for the blocks were basically the same (at least where
   the fuel pump openning is)?  196 is half of a 392 (non IC), 152 is half of a 
   304, 304 345 392(non IC) are bascially the same block (maybe not year to 
   year).  But I could be wrong, Lord knows I have been so before.  If that's 
   the case, I appologize for any misinformation.
