    While on the subject of car alarms, my 1996 328i came with one which I
almost never use.  Don't want to wake the neighbors.  I do like the
automatic door lock/unlock feature, however, and wonder if anyone knows if
it is a simple matter to disable the noise making device while retaining the
automatic lock/unlock feature.
