New engine




Dear Stag digest members,

I am currently restoring a '71 LHD STAG, saffron yellow, OD I bought partly
dismantled last year, and , unfortunately, it had a Triumph 2.5 engine,
which, obviuosly, I want  to replace by THE STAG engine, and I decided to go
for a fully rebuild unit lead free ready.

I need to decide from who to buy, and several options came up : RIMMER BROS,
E.M.S, T.HART, FAVERSHAM, without wanting to name them all.

HART is the most expensive : 3.000 �..., RIMMER and E.M.S, who specializes
in selling reconditioned engines for classics are more or less equivalent at
+/- 2200 �  U.K, as there is no return unit.

Does anybody have experience in buying a reconditioned engine from one of
those companies ? EMS seemed very professional, especially as it is their
core business, anybody heard anything about them ?

All information would be useful to decide which one to choose. Thanks very
