Park - front and rear side markers left and right, front and rear parking
lights
(running lights) left and right, license lamps, instrument lights.
Headlamps were next position on the dial.
Lights are not switched through the ignition, but right off the batery
circuit.
If you have a side out, it could be a fuse, or corroded fuse contact, or
faulty/corroded connector in that circuit.
An Owners Handbook and repair manual would go a long way in troubleshooting
some
of your problems.

Thanks, Glenn. Yes I have a US spec car. I have the workshop manual with
wiring diagram which is a big help. Unfortunately, when I bought the car,
alot of the wiring had been disconnected from all of the lights which had
been removed during a repaint which was never finished. I've traced all of
the wiring, cleaned all of the connectors,, fuse block, installed all of the
correct fuses, etc, and am now troubleshooting a few things.
