Re: electric fans



Not sure about block locations as I've still never seen a stag
block...but.....'85-'92 Camaros/Firebirds use a thermostatically activated
switch to turn on the electrical fans (and off I believe)  Stock is like 220
on 200 off, available at any auto parts store.  A company Hypertech offers a
lower temp one that operates in the 180' temp range.  Its not that
expensive.  Ideally it would be best in the head..if  there's a freeze plug
you can take out or even in the radiator itself would be ok.  One way to
combat thread differences is to use a pipe plug with the correct head
threads and then drill and tap the center for the temp switch.  Of course
the manual switch would work as well...except I'd hate to forget to turn
that on sometime...$#it happens.  HTH
