Re: What connects to this fitting?
With the help of Dan Pruzan and the Stag shop manual we have determined
that the connector I wrote about asking "What connects to it" connects
to the line coming from the vacuum advance unit on the distributor via
small hard rubber elbows and a thin hard plastic line.
Now I have another fitting that I have no clue what connects to it (it
was where the advance unit line from the distributor was attacxhed to on
my car). It's on both sets of carbs that I have. There is a vacuum
fitting on the bottom of the left carb (under carb near center of the
intake manifold area) near where it mates with the carb pedestal. It is
a smooth brass tube type fitting. Anyone know what goes there?
Its not easy to see when on the car. I had to feel around for it. Its
definetly there on my carbs. The only thing I have seen in the parts
book that may have been hooked up to this port is a fuel trap (page
02-43 in parts book) but I have no clue where the other end of the line
would go.
My car is a MK I Stag and does not have the vacuum(?) switch mounted in
the radiator as shown in the parts book for later cars on the same page
as the fuel trap.
Any help would be appreciated.
