Along these lines, 5 minutes with a can of black spray paint and some rocks
from the yard and you'd get the point across - without having to wash the
stocking.  Coal is not clean stuff - I used to stick in my pockets as a
child and always ended up in trouble for it...  You can really get the look
from a burned log too if you want - just knock of some of the cubes that are
often left and you'll have the look of coal, and all dirty traces, but
without the weight.

This post begs the question "who was bad?"
