Re: ihc-digest V6 #904

Tom,
Hey, yourself,

FWIW, my son in his shop where he works on everything from Buzz' big
Mercedes to the biggest equipment Cat makes, he uses only Shell's
Retinax LC, which is a red grease, available in grease gun tubes as
well as other kinds of containers. I'm sure that other oil companies
make all purpose grease, but in the last 12 years, he has decided that
this is the grease for them. I don't know whether or not he uses it
for high temp wheel bearings on disk brake wheels, or not, but I can
ask him if you are interested.

The Retinax LC is a lithium based grease, and I see on Shell's web
site that they also sell a moly based grease called Super Duty that
they recommend for wheel bearings in extreme conditions.
