Re: Travelall - it lives

LATE BREAKING NEWS: Tom Mandera <[email protected]> wins the 40 million dollar
lottery and says:

>I see 3 fittings.

Tommy,

I think you've figured this out, but to sum it up again...

The heater hose fitting on the *water pump* housing (left front of the
intake manifold) is a low pressure area. This is where coolant will be
"sucked" into if connected from someplace else.

Depending on the IH model, year and engine, the source of hot water for the
heater is either the thermostat housing or between runners on the intake
manifold. These are higher pressure areas. In practice it really doesn't
matter where you collect this hot coolant from for your heater... you just
need to pick one convenient place and plug the rest.

The heater control valve goes in line to the heater core *supply* hose (the
one connected to the thermostat housing or the intake).

When you have a Franken Engine(tm) [that's "tm" for Tom Mandera] with parts
from scrounged from several others, you get lots of choices of where to
hook things up... or possibly none at all!

Take care,

John L.
