Volvo trucks

Scott,
I don't doubt your numbers, but we traveled for 7 weeks last Fall in
the South, and I swear that every newish truck that is owned by a
Southern trucking company is a Volvo. It's pretty obvious that the
folks in the South know that what is good for Volvo in their American
truck building endeavors is, in the long run, good for them.

Isn't there really one domestic owned leader in the truck market. The
figures I saw last said that 1 out of every 2 big trucks being
manufactured was by Freightliner.

The domestic Volvo truck operation is pretty small in comparison with
the
rest of the industry. The numbers I saw YTD 3rd quarter were only
2,800
trucks built. I probably shouldn't start this thread but I have heard
that
a Domestic owned leader in the truck market had some interest in the
Volvo
nameplate. You fill in the blank. :-)
