Re: Scout II weight?

2600# may be pretty close----A.R. after rust :-)

A 1980 Sales Data book shows the weight for the Traveltop as 3691,
Traveler as 3956, and the Terra as 3706 in the 4x4 versions. This is for
the base gas model, which means 4-196, 3 speed, and a single speed
transfer case and a note says +/-50#. For a 304 add 217#, 345-240#, auto
trans-35#, 4 speed-72#, Dana 300-75# plus lube, rear seat-65#, A/C-62#,
Interior trim package-up to 29#, HD Springs-29#, Off-road wheel & tire
package-99#, Cigar lighter-1#, and the list goes on. A Sport Steering
Wheel will save you 2#.

I'd say that there were few that left the factory under 4000# and don't
forget that most of us don't drive them down the street with the gas tank
completely empty--another 108# with the std. tank, almost 200# with a 33
gallon tank when it's full. And how much mud is packed up inside the
wheel wells?
