gear ratios

Matt
You can divide the number of teeth on the pinion into the number of
teeth on the ring gear. Or if you don't want to open the case, divide
the number of rotations that the driveshaft makes by the number of
rotations the wheel makes.

Subject: Differential ID?

IH all,
Does anyone know how to identify the gear ratio on a differential if
there
are no ID tags on the covers? I believe they are Dana 40's.
Matt
