I CONFESS.     My MSD 6 ignition has a ballast resistor because the
Mallory Unilite Distributor that activated it requires a ballast
resistor.

Scouters,

I have an MSD Offroad 6.  It doesn't use a ballast resistor.  The
points 
only see a tiny signal current.  So I use neither a ballast or 
condenser.  But, they're both in there in case I have to switch back
to 
points ignition.
