I really need everyones input though. If you are affiliated with a club
(of sorts) please email me directly with a suggestion for a standard
channel. I understand that channel 19 will be a traveling channel and
because there are 40 other channels to choose from and the fact that there
are many 23 channel CB's still in use, we will most likely go with a lower
channel. Channel 4 seems to be the most popular. I like the idea of
4X4=16 and it could be the backup, or secondary channel. I imagine that
through our collective efforts on the Jeep-L, that OUR channel can become
like channel 19 did for the truckers. It may take a few years, but
wouldn't it be nice to transmit from the 4X'ers channel in a time of need
and have others monitoring it? If a big group is using the channel, we can
use the KNOWN secondary channel. When everything is final, a standard
banner or .gif image can be displayed on everyones homepage (anyone want to
design it? Send your images here: mailto:[email protected]?subject=CBStandard
). A single line can be added in everyone's .sig file promoting the
standard channel. Am I forgetting something? I am sending this letter to
everyone in the Rockcrawlers webring.
