Re: Dome Light Solution

     Mark & Other Digesters,

What I'm planning to do is install either a terminal strip or AMP type
sex connector at the top of the windshield pillar, this way, when
summertime rolls around again (is it over already? well, not quite)
and the hardtop comes off, all I have to do is disconnect it.

Speaking of dome lights, at Nationals, somebody (sorry, I forget who
it was) told me that the actual dome cover of the dome light is the
same as in a *something else* truck - I've forgotten whether it was a
Chevy or a Ford, and what era. Anyone have any insight here? Does
anyone know what the wattage of the stock dome light is? I plugged
mine into a 15 amp circuit, and it immediately caused the fuse to
open. I measured about 1.2 ohms, so I figure it's somewhere around
     14-15 watts.

One idea on the dome light wiring. I tend to like things real
simple, when I lift a top I hate to mess with wires. I have
added extra underdash lights that are door and/or switch
controlled. I get the necessary illumination. I can look at
something without everyone seeing me. I can drive at the
same time with no loss of night vision. And when I pull
the top --hey, no wires!
