RE: E36 vs newer 3 series...was- Re: Whoo-Ah!!!!

I don't normally comment on such subjects but...   I just went through test
driving a whole slew of new cars in anticipation of buying new.  I too,
drive a '94 325 (happens to be a M-Technic you may have seen forsale here
recently) which was my basis for comparison against the new BMW 3 Series.
The new car had a little more torque and was quieter, but as far as overall
feel there was no way I was going to put out 20 grand for not much
difference.  I don't think the new car is sub par in any way, I just think
the E36 was and apparently still is a GREAT car.  So, why is the M-Technic
forsale?  In my travels I found and bought a '99 Z3 Coupe which has fun a
factor a little greater than the old car.(I'm sure its a combination of the
wheelbase and weight to HP)

PS....If any of you are looking for something new, you owe it to yourself to
at least give the new Mercedes C230 coupe with six speed and sport package a
test drive.  Styling is a bit off, but it's a blast to drive once you turn
off the computer and let your right foot do the driving!  Gee I hope that
salesman isn't reading this.
