Switch the driver's side switch with the passenger side switch (they pop out
from behind if you remove the shifter boot) as a test. Does it still happen?
If so, it's probably the contacts within the switch. You can try to clean it by
spraying it with electrical contact cleaner and then working the switch to clean
the contacts.
I've had the same problem in my car. Cleaning the switch fixed the problem.
