E36 325i coupe damper renewal
Hi
The life of my dampers is coming to an end, the car wallows about on
roundabouts and corners, and wanders on the motorway/expressway/freeway.
The question is, what to I renew them with ? I am inclined to go for a
sports package, however:
1. I dont really want to mess about with the looks of the car (I think it
looks great as it is without lowering).
2. I dont want my brain to come loose every time I hit a bump in the
road.
3. I might be over-reacting since the damping has deteriorated and it may
be fine with new stock-type dampers.
What have people done in the past ? Have you been pleased with the results
? Has anyone fitted the M-tech kit ? Is it the same as the M3 kit ? Can I
get the same results with a set of dampers only ? Is it a harsh ride ?
Dampers easily available to me are Sachs-Boge and Bilstein.
Also, how so these dampers fit ? Do the fronts come as a complete strut or
do you dismantle the current strusts and replace a cartridge ?
Thanks in advance
