"Gutting the Cat" as I used the phrase really means removing the cat and
replacing it with what's known as a track pipe.  BMP sells these and its
nothing more than a straight pipe to fit in that section.

Sure it's illegal.  It's for a track car.

Or, if you happen to be a very savvy street car driver, its not too hard to
get an emissions inspection for a non-cat car if you know the right people
and can wave a hundred dollar bill at the right person....not that I would
ever recommend that <grin>......(watching the tree huggers on the Digest
pass out right about now).
