<all> torque wrenches

I'm in the market for a torque wrench, and was searching the web &
found a place that repairs & recalibrates torque wrenches, Missouri
Valley Calibration (www.torquerepair.com). I happened to catch the
owner (Mark? - I'm very bad with names) answering the phones. His
advice was: short of spending $$$ for Snap-On or Facom (He wasn't
familiar with Facom) was S-K. They're supposedly made by JS
Technology, an outfit that makes torque wrenches for several middle of
the road quality tool companies. Proto have a good beefy rachet head,
but the wrench mechanism isn't up to par with the rest. Hazet makes a
beatiful wrench, speced by Porsche for their dealers, but once again,
in the $$$ category. Just thought I'd share this with the digest, I'm
probably not the only person who's gritted their teeth at the price of
a Snap-On torque wrench. (Then again, I really like nice tools - I
have a Facom 3/8" ratchet - smooth!! - I'll probably end up getting a
high dollar wrench just the same, but it helps me to work my way up to
it.)
