1)   The brake light always comes on until you tap the brakes.  Is it
doing this or staying on?  Could be a bad brake check light relay.

2)  Bavarian or BMP have the mats, but not as nice as the factory ones.

3)  Yes, replace both.  After not so many thousands of miles the cam
gear and the timing chain develop a wear pattern, together.  Replace
one, and they will both get eaten up rather quickly due to the
replacement's lack of the wear pattern.
