Ben -
First of all, think positive - it's not going to rain! Second, in the M3,
you really need to slow down for the corners, and be patient getting back
on the gas. If you hit the corners too fast or get on the gas too soon, or
both, you'll really understeer. It'll probably be worse if it rains. Also,
if the autox you're going to attend is the one at the Oakland Coliseum, the
asphalt over there is kind of slick to start with, and there really hasn't
been a good rain in a while, so if it rains, it's really going to be
slippery, so you'll have to be really smooth to get a good time. Another
thing to remember is to turn off the ASC+T - I've had a few scary moments
fighting the ASC+T during slippery autocrosses. It's also very frustrating
setting up to pivot around a turn with power-on oversteer, hammering the
gas, and having the ASC+T kick in and ruin your beautiful drift! One last
thing to remember - if it is the Oakland Coliseum event, whatever you do,
don't run a better time than the black M3 coupe running in CSP (or Street
Tire) with the number 150 on it. :-)
Good Luck!
