Scratch the Itch - New NCC AutoX 10-3 (Long)

Yeah, our last autox was in July (for those of you who missed
participating at O'Fest 98) and our next event was not supposed to
occur until ChapterFest on October 24th. This is just too long to go
without a NCC autox.

Therefore, in response to your requests, we have arranged for another
autox in the DC area to be run at the Rosecroft Raceway on Saturday,
October 3rd.

PLACE:
Rosecroft Raceway in Ft. Washington, Maryland

TIMES:
Registration and tech open at 8:00am and CLOSE at 11:00am.

First car starts at 9:00am; second heat begins around 10:45am; third
heat at 12:30pm; and, fourth heat at 2:15pm. We must be done by
5:00pm.

Dinner starts at 6:00pm (see below).

COST:
The cost for this event will be $20. However, we have negotiated with
the racetrack and for this fee, you not only get to run the autox, you
get to enjoy a buffet dinner (choice of entrees) in the track's
restaurant and watch (and/or bet on) the harness racing during and
after dinner. The price includes dinner and desert, but does not
include beverages (you are on your own for those). As an added bonus,
the autox class winners will be allowed to ride in the pace/starter
car. The cost is $20 whether or not you go to dinner. Anyone wanting
to bring a spouse or "significant other" may purchase a dinner ticket
during autox registration - the cost is (you guessed it) $20.

DIRECTIONS:
>From I-95/495 (Capital Beltway) take Exit 4A (East) and follow the
signs to the track (it is very close to the Beltway). If you are
coming from I-95/495 South (from Virginia) you take Exit 4A and go to
the top of the exit ramp. At the stop light, go straight and then
make an immediate left. Then, follow the road around for about 1/4
mile and turn right at the entrance sign to the track. If you are
coming from I-95/495 North (from Baltimore), you take Exit 4A and
immediately after crossing over the Beltway, make a left at the stop
light and an immediate left. Then, follow the road around for about
1/4 mile and turn right at the entrance sign to the track. If this is
confusing, please go to Rosecroft's web page and look at the
directions (and map) under general information. Their web page is at
   Http:\\www.Rosecroft.com

REGISTRATION:
Please send an e-mail to me at [email protected] or call
703-255-3219. I will need your name, year make and model car, NCC
class (if known - or a list of performance modifications). This event
will be limited to 120 participants (four heats of no more than 30
cars).

GENERAL INFO:
This will NOT be a part of the NCC Autox Series (it's just for fun).
We are doing this to "test" the lot, since we are considering using
this location for our final autox of the season which is scheduled for
November 15th. We will have at least 3 runs per car (more if fewer
cars show-up or if time permits). You will be permitted to run with a
weight penalty (passengers and instructors).

The lot is quite large and only has four light poles but the asphalt
is old and somewhat rough (not bumpy).

You will need a helmet (SNELL 85 or newer) and you will need to clean
all loose items from the interior and the trunk of your car.

Many thanks to Duane Collie for locating this lot and for a lot of
hard work in arranging the details.

If you have any questions (or to pre-register as noted above), please
send me an e-mail.

NCC Autox Chairman
