<E28> Overheating on the highway

Hello experts,
	Can anyone knowledgeable on E28 cooling problems help me troubleshoot my 84 
525i's problem?  My cars temperature runs at the normal 12 o'clock position 
during most types of driving (city, traffic, <120k autobahn) except when I 
increase my speed.  In excess of 120k the temperature needle begins a steady 
climb towards the red.  I have tempted fate a few times and the needle will 
hold steady at higher temps but I don't have the heart to push it much beyond 
about 5/6ths to the red.  As soon as I slow down to 100k or below the temp 
returns to normal.  I have investigated the online resources that I am aware of 
to no avail.  This cars serves a my beater and has not seen much use lately as 
I took delivery through BMW Military sales a new 98 328iC in June and have been 
enjoying topless cruising in Germany.  Please respond to nelson@domain.elided.
