<2002> Alternator Upgrade

James and Curtis,

   From the last issue of Headlights, Anthony Velleco replaced his 
alternator with a used alternator from a 530i (because it kept him in the 
Bosch line).  The mounting points are the same, the wiring harness plugs 
right in, and it has a solid bushing which won't wear out.  It takes your 
stock 2002 (pre-'74) from 35 amps to 55 amps, and it takes the later '02s 
from 45 amps to 55 amps.  This info is straight from Anthony Velleco.
