|I seem to have posted the message about BMW vs. Nissan rather poorly.
I
|have the BMW, Zak Nilsson has the Nissan. I KNOW BMW's can out handle
and
|out perform Nissans, I mean after all, they're Japanese. Sorry for the
|confusion.

Joshua: What makes you think that you _KNOW_ BMW's can outhandle and
outperform Nissans just because they're Japanese? IMO, you _KNOW_
nothing, and merely _THINK_ your car is superior because it is a BMW.
It is people like you who give BMW a bad name.

>From Gary:
>You feel so confident that your car can beat a Nissan Skyline GT-R, a
>Toyota Supra Twin Turbo, Mazda RX-7 R1 Twin Turbo, and Acura/Honda NSX,
>because afterall, "they're Japanese".
Japan makes some of the finest cars in the world but doesn't export it's
very best. They are a step behind Germany in terms of road feel and
perhaps safety, but IMO, they make cars that are the most reliable in
the world at this time. And IMO, Honda makes the best 4 cylinder NA
engines in the world. The shifter in the GS-R is one of the best in the
world price independent. Even the shift linkage in my Civic Si is
arguably better than the one in the 3 series I drove. Steering, road
feel, handling, rigidity definitely go to the 318Ti I drove... but
engine, shifter, value (1/2 the price), utility, and reliability (based
on past records) go the Civic Si H/B.
>case you're wondering, it's a Subuaru Impreza WRX (low 4's 0-60MPH). >Granted,
>the BMW is more luxurious :).
The Impreza WRX RA is one awesomme AWD car... it may be coming to the US
next year.
I read both the Honda Performance list and the BMW list and I must say
that the personalities are very different. The majority of the BMW
members are true enthusiasts that appreciate a well-engineered
performance car no matter where it's from, but there seems to be a few
BMW snobs on this list.
And no, I don't drive a BMW. THe reason I read this digest is because I
eventually want to buy one when I can afford it... probably a used E30
M3 or a used E36 318Ti.
