Hi Rich - well, this may be the first time I've heard of someone wanting to
run smaller than stock wheels/tires for track events! I would be concerned
about whether 16" wheels would even fit over the brakes, and give adequate
cooling/air flow. Other than that, I suspect that generally it's preferable
to keep the wheel and tire width within the fenders to avoid rubbing. When
you said larger, you presumably meant wheels and tires wider than stock, but
smaller in diameter. Your width is presumably limited by the space available
in the fender well at that extreme of suspension travel, so whatever would
keep rolling without rubbing. Good luck - Marshall
