Strut Tower Brace



I was told that  strut tower brace would benefit my '83 320i, and that the
type that allows the towers to be 'pre-loaded' is preferred.

My questions are: Did the brace actually reduce flex?
	                  Did reducing flex improve cornering?
                  Are there real differences in design?
                  How much do they cost, and where do you get them?
