Subject: [bmw] Thermostat question

Hi all,

The other day, a digester wrote in with an interesting question regarding
the temp gauge on his BMW... I guess more correctly, he wrote regarding the
fact that his temp gauge never stays in the middle. I have the same issue
with both my BMWs and was wondering if the fix was the thermostat as he
orginally mused.

Was there any thought on that? I can actually watch my temp gauge rise and
fall while driving...

Thanks for your input!

Best,
Stephen

Bilstein "Touring" shocks are indeed a bit tighter(15%) than the OEM shocks, but not made at all similar to the Bilstein HD shock,(a bit more money)which I highly recommend you use,as I have on 4 different street and/or track BMWs over the years.Your 540i can easily seem to outrun the Tourings if you drive hard at times. The HDs will not give a harsh ride with standard height or even slightly lowered springs like the H&R sports.Ask me how I know.....(OH! e28 Bilstein Touring shocks FS with only 4K on them!)

Subject: [bmw] New Touring Shocks

Guys,
Bilstein has a new shock (beside the heavy duty and sport) called "touring"
model. I think they say it has 15% more gas pressure than "regular" shocks.
I want something a little firmer than stock so I was thinking these might be
ideal for my 1994 540iA. Boge also has a premium gas shock. What's the
recommendation of the WOTL?

TIA,
tsp
