Don't use the DRL's !!!
don't do the DRL's. They just add visual clutter to the traffic mix. I
personally use the DRL as (asbestos underwear_ON) proof that the person
inside bought the car "because it's a Beemer", not that there's any
underlying appreciation as to why it's special or has capabilites more than,
say, a Malibu.
DRL's should be reserved for motorcycles only
see www.lightsout.org
I suggest that in situations where you'd want DRL, use the running lights,
plus the fogs if you have them. The nice yellow does not add to clutter,
and is more noticable than leaving your high beams half on, glaring at the
general public. The fogs aim downward, so if you must, at least the glare
is less.
I don't know why your dealer said what they said. Mine asked as part of the
check list > key remote"doors open driver or all"...check. "Daytime Running
Lights".....Off, check. They can do it.
