RE: AC conversion to 134
As another, possibly cheaper option - if you don't have any leaks, There is
a product available 'off the shelf' here called Duracool. It is
environmentally friendly, Legal, and compatible with both R12 and R134a
systems.
So if you just need a recharge, this may be the cheaper way to go.
I have used it successfully on numerous cars. At C $12.00 a can (~1 lb R12 /
R134a) and only C $15.00 for an R12 to R134a Low Pressure Valve Adapter, it
is pretty inexpensive. (The store's that sell it here will lend you the
'install hose and can adapter'.)
For more info, go to http://www.duracool.com - I can also help with
obtaining some if you like.

Subject: AC conversion to 134
Has anyone performed a conversion of their AC system from Freon R-12 to
R-134?
I did this to a Volvo and it worked fine.
Thoughts, problems etc.
I know you have to put in a new dryer and flush the system with alcohol. All
new seals too!
As I remember the oil in the compressor has to be changed also.
Any one with AC experience I would appreciate your advice.
